[Project Health Post]
We are back with more information about our trip to Nepal!
On June 11th our project members headed towards the site of the Health Post we have been working on for about a year now in Narayanthan, Sindhupalchok. Due to road conditions in the monsoons, it took us a long ride, but ultimately, we were greeted warmly by the villagers and witnessed Nepal’s great hospitality.
The Health Post is a three-room building which will be used by the medical staff for the treatment of 1000 people in and around the village. Hearing from the contact person in charge of the Health Post, Mingmar Sherpa, there are plans for it to be expanded, including a road directly leading to the building for the ambulance. The building is expected to be open for use in less than three months since documentation for the ownership of the land has yet to be transferred.
We interviewed both people in-charge and victims in the village to gather more information about the situation of the people during and after the earthquake and also to speculate the impact of our Health Post.
More information about the rest of the trip will soon be posted. Please stay tuned!
